About Tignes Val Claret
Do you dream of a vacation where you can go skiing all year round, surrounded by the scenery of the French Alps, where there's plenty to do après-ski including shops, restaurants, bars, 2 night clubs and a movie theater? This describes the village of Tignes Val-Claret, linked to the Espace Killy ski area and right next door to the popular Val d’lsere resort. Killy offers more than 186 miles of ski trails across 24 acres of land catering to every level of skier with slalom and mogul runs, snow parks, dog sledding, snowshoeing and heliskiing. It appeals to good skiers, but there are many schools for ski hire. Val Claret is the highest mountain in Tignes, rising by nearly one and a half miles. It sits right at the foot of the glacier, with the best skiing access.

Val Claret is a compact village, filled with bars, restaurants and shops. For an après-ski drink, there's for eyample The Mover Café. Night clubbers will like the Melting Pot, open into the wee hours. There are many restaurants, including ethnic ones and those with local Savoyard specialties (named after the Savoie Alps). If you’ve rented your own apartment with cooking facilities, Val Claret has a Sherpa supermarket right in town.
For beginning skiers, there are five free ski lifts at the village level. Or, you could take the 6-minute underground funicular from Val Claret to the top of Grand Motte. Once there, you will marvel at the glacier’s wide, open, gentle slopes. Tignes Val Claret also has a few nursery slopes. One sits right in the village. And there are plenty of schools here for ski hire in Tignes Val-Claret for children and adults, including specialist snowboard schools and independent instructors.
Intermediate skiers who want to cover many pistes will love Espace Killy for its vast choice of blue and green runs. Snowboarders will find a terrain park right within Tignes Val Claret.

Atop the Grande Motte glacier is a marvelous ice display. The Tignes ice caves are filled with glistening sculptures and fairytale figures. Every winter expert ice sculptors come to create a new exhibition based on themes like dragons, crystals, animals and more. Seeking relaxation? Five minutes from La Claret is a modern health complex in Tignes Le Lac, with two pools, a gymnasium, and a “Wellness Center” that has a sauna, a Jacuzzi, a steam room, and massages. Or you could play a round of billiards at Le Bec Rouge billiard hall within Le Lac.
