About Les Contamines Montjoie
Les Contamines-Montjoie lies at 1164 m altitude, east of Megève, about 60 km south-east of Geneva. With its 1125 inhabitants it is one of the smaller villages of the département Haute-Savoie. It lies in the valley of Val Montjoie very close to the Mont Blanc.

Sainte-Trinité, the village’s parish church, was built in 1760 in baroque style replacing a medieval castle overlooking and controlling the road crossing the Col du Bonhomme.

More chapels and churches in baroque style can be found in neighboring hamlets and at the southern tip of the Val Montoje, where the former parish church Notre Dame de la Gorge is located. Also, les Contamines-Montojes is perfectly located for hiking tours in the Mont Blanc mountain area.
