About Bessans

Bessans The little French village Bessans on the eastern border to Italy is a popular ski resort. The commune on the high plateau mauriennais has only 300 inhabitants but especially in winter tourists and even the French national team come to Bessan to use the slopes and lopes. The huge frozen dam caused by a rockslide during the glacial period is an ideal place for skating.

At least two historical buildings are well worth seeing: the Saint-Antoine chapel built in the 16th century as well as the near by Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church with plenty decorations and details.
