Serre Chevalier 1200 (Briancon) Briancon is a little town in France with about 12100 inhabitants. Because of its special location, it is the second highest city in Europe. It is placed near the Italian border and beside the river Guisane.

If you are interested in culture, you should definitely go to the Fortifications of Vauban which belongs to list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You can also visit the parish church which was built in the 18th century or to the Pont d'Asfeld. By the way almost every part of the center is a fort.
