About Les Agudes
Les Agudes lies in the heart of the central Pyrenees at the southern end of France. At an elevation of 1600m to 2400m above sea level, this resort is a popular attraction for skiers and snowboarders alike. Here winter season runs from November to April and a snow making facility ensures there is no shortage of fresh powder. A visitor will be taken back in time when viewing the historic buildings, some dating back to the Middle Ages. Capitole de Toulouse built from the 11th to the 13th century, is made from stone, brick and tile. The Capitole houses the Hotel de Ville, The Theatre du Capitole and the Donjon du Capitole. Pont Neuf is a 16th century bridge that crosses the Garonne River. The Musee des Augustins de Toulouse maintains a collection of sculpture and paintings that start in the Middle Ages and conclude in the present. There are five exquisite churches in the area. Saint-Sernin Basilica is the largest Romanesque church in Europe. On display in the Basilica is the most beautiful pipe organ in France. There are many restaurants where a traveller may experience French cuisine.

Back on the train and 50km toward the foothills of the Pyrenees, one is in Cather country. The Fortress of Carcassonne awaits visitors daily.
