About St. Gallenkirch
St. Gallenkirch is a small village within the municipality of the same name in the southwestern part of Austria.
It lies in the valley of Montafon within the district of Bludenz on Vorarlberg on a height of 884 meters above sea level. The municipality counts approximately 2,300 inhabitants on a total area of 128 km² and consists of two further villages named Gargellen and Gortipohl. St. Gallenkirch village lies north to the river Ill. Various mountains are surrounding the valley with the highest one (Piz Buin) with a height of 3,312 meters.

In St. Gallenkirch you will find the famous church of holy Gallus which was built in 1474. Last renovated in 1969, this church is a typical sample of gothic building style. It is also possible to book a tandem paraglide ride in St. Gallenkirch, enabling you to experience the panoramic view over the Montafon valley from "above".
