About Zell am Ziller
Zell am Ziller in Schwaz may only be five hundred seventy five meters above sea level but this small town is the center of Zillertal Valley. It is the largest of five municipalities located in this beautiful area. It was once famous for gold mining. Today it is famous for the beautiful churches built here. Look up in the dome of the Baroque Parish Church to see the spectacular fresco. This beautiful church was built in 1782. Make time to see the "Maria Rast", an eighteenth century pilgrimage church located in Hainzenberg.
