Austria’s largest cross-country skiing race, the Koasalauf, takes place in St. Johann every February. The picturesque village has many hotels, cafes, and a Baroque Parish church. Don’t miss the Gmailkapelle chapel, a Baroque chapel built in 1782 in the Niederkaiser ridge. The Schleier waterfall cascades downwards for an astonishing 80m, the largest in the region.
