About Pettneu
The tiny Pettneu am Arlberg community is located in Tyrol's Landeck district. 56.8 kilometers in extent, it has an elevation of 1,222m and, as at December 2008, had a population of 1,479. It comprises several villages, including Pettneu Schnann in the west, and lies in Punch Valley. Pettneu, which means "new bridge", is famous for tourism and agriculture and has recently set itself up as a world-class ski and ski hire resort to rival its larger neighbours.
Show sights
In Pettneu, skiing (and ski hire!) is the most popular thing to do and, as the town entices the tourist with 15km of exciting pistes and gondolas galore, the Pettneu ski hire industry is indeed on the up and up! An enchanted children's playground along with art exhibitions and readings in the local church's basement complete the simple, but fulfilling, wonders that Pettneu has to offer.
Show destinations
Pettneu is also quite close to St Anton am Arlberg, where visitors can marvel at the stately beauty of the churches of St Anton and St Jacob. St Anton also offers world class skiing but tourists may prefer to leave the rat-race of the busier resort for the peace and tranquillity of the Pettneu ski hire and skiing experience.
