In this small town, you can find a castle, church, school and the Gasthof Ittererwirt. There is history behind the Itter Castle. It's passed through many hands and even caught the attention of the Nazis. In 1943, it was requisitioned by the Wehrmacht. It was also put under operational control of the Nazi concentration camp Dachau.
