About Going

Going For the 1700 permanent residents of Going, tourism is the primary economic activity. Situated 800 meters above sea level, next to a lake and near the base of the Wilder Kaiser mountains, Going is the perfect place for winter sports, especially skiing. The main village of Going is Prama and is located directly on the open planes at the base of the moutains. Nearby cities include Griesenau in the north, Eberhartling, Oberndorf in Tirol,Rettenbach and Sperten to the east and Hallendorf, Bichlach, Munichau and Reith bei Kitzbuhel to the approximate south. The main attraction of Going is skiing, and is home to hotels and several skiing facilities including ski trails, lifts, huts and a Going ski hire shop. Other attractions include hiking and climbing, cycling and mountain biking.

Going is home to 35km of cross-country skiing trails, ski schools, winter hiking trails and the ski hire Going. The mountains are home to several mountain inns and huts. Skiing is not the only activity in Going. Anyone can participate in hiking, climbing, ice skating, tennis, squash and curling in addition to cycling and mountain biking. Going has more traditional fares on offer, such as an Arts and Crafts market where the locals highlight the ever dwindling traditional economic activities. Going is also home to a bathing lake which is fed by the natural springs of the Wilder Kaiser mountains nearby. It offers some of the longest water slides in the local area and the recent addition of a children's playground and a beach volleyball court. Going has fantastic activities for the winter season and all other seasons too.

The nearest large city to Going is Salzburg. It is most famous for being the birthplace of the classical composer, Motzart and being the site for several scenes in "The Sound of Music". The city still houses Mozatrts birthplace and is one of the most popular tourist attractions. Some other tourist attractings in Salzburg include the World Heritage Area of Old Town of Salzburg, the churches that display baroque architecture, particularly the Salzburg Cathedral.
This history of Salzburg is fascinating, and often tourists visit places that were occupied by, including a palace and a castle (now a casino). Salzburg is also home to ski equipment and ski hire facilities, as several regional areas are popular tourist destinations.

Going, Austria is a fantastic tourist attracting for those whose passion is the outdoors. In addition to skiing and the associated activities of ski hire and rental, ski lift and too many ski runs to list, not to mention the pristine lake filled with natural spring water and hiking and biking activities.
