About Alpbach
Alpbach is a small town, located in the western Austria in the state of Tyrol (district of Kufstein). It has a population of above 2500. This town is located at elevation of 975 meters above the sea level. The biggest city in the distance of about 60 km from Alpbach is Innsbruck.

The town of Alpbach is famous because of the winter and summer tourism. The first tourists arrived here in 1938 when the town had a total of 110 accommodation spaces. Today it is more popular with around 22,000 visitors in the winter and the same amount in the summer. Because of the beautiful architecture and floral decorations, in 1983 was voted for "Austria's most beautiful village". The winter tourism is very popular and almost every inhabitant in the town is linked with it. Winter activities include skiing (you can visit the ski hire in Alpbach), skateboarding, cross-county skiing, etc. The ski pistes are 45 km long offering unforgettable experience under the clear blue sky. Cross-county lovers can ski hire for the 22 km long skiing trail, viewing beautiful scenery, untouched snow and idyllic surroundings. Besides skiing, in Alpbach the tourists can do other activities like walking, skating, sledging, curling, swimming, etc. They can visit the ski bars on the mountain and the restaurants in the town. The summer activities include hiking, mount biking (there are 8 bike trails), swimming, etc. Since 1945, Alpbach has been home of the "European Forum Alpbach" held every year. This is an event attracting representatives from the field of science, politics, culture, industry and trade. Besides skiing (you can easily ski hire for your holiday or one for the day trip), you can always explore the town attractions. The visit of Alpbach St. Oswald Parish Church built in Baroque style is one of the best options opened all year long. Congress Centre Alpbach offers a combination between new, modern and classical architecture elements with natural and environmental flavor as a background. This is a perfect place for a family visit. Through the summer period, visitors can see the Alpbach Museum of Alpine Farming. Over 350 events every year are held in Alpbach (from music and entertainment events, to sport events, exhibitions and culinary delights).
